How Your Firework Purchase Helps Reforest the Planet

At Firework Crazy, we believe that every celebration with fireworks is an opportunity to make a positive impact on the planet. That’s why, since January 2024, we’ve proudly partnered with Tree-Nation, a global non-profit dedicated to reforesting the world and fighting climate change.

Thanks to this partnership, every firework you purchase helps plant trees, support vital conservation projects and offset carbon emissions. So, the next time you celebrate with fireworks, you can enjoy peace of mind knowing you’re contributing to a sustainable cause.

In this blog, we’ll explain why reforestation matters to us and show how your purchase is helping restore forests across the globe.

Our Environmental Commitment

Sustainability isn’t just a goal for us; it’s a promise we’ve made to our customers and the planet. For every firework purchased, we plant a tree through our partnership with Tree-Nation, helping to fight climate change.

In addition to this, our website operates with a net-zero carbon footprint, which means that the emissions produced by hosting and operating our online store are fully offset.

From the moment you visit our site to when you light your fireworks, we work hard to minimise our environmental impact every step of the way.

Why Reforestation Matters for Our Planet

Forests and trees play a huge role in keeping our planet healthy. They soak up the carbon dioxide emitted from cars, factories and power plants to help slow down the effects of climate change. One tree can soak up around 25kg of CO₂ annually, naturally cleaning our air.

Forests are also home to over 80% of the world’s wildlife and support plants and animals, so protecting them isn’t just about fighting climate change but also helps to preserve nature for future generations.

How Your Firework Purchase Supports Tree Planting

Every time you purchase a firework from us, you’re helping restore the planet. Here’s how it works:

1. Purchase a firework
Every firework you buy supports our tree-planting initiative

2. Funds go to Tree-Nation
We pass a portion of each sale to Tree-Nation, which connects us with reforestation projects.

3. Trees are planted
Your contribution helps fund vital reforestation projects and supports local communities worldwide. Every tree planted is added to our growing Tree-Nation forest, where you can see the difference your purchase makes.

About Tree-Nation

Founded in 2006, Tree-Nation is on a mission to combat climate change by planting one trillion trees by 2050.

With over 44 million trees planted and counting, they gather and coordinate reforestation projects worldwide.

Tree-Nations projects are designed to:

  • Stop deforestation by protecting forests and reviving important habitats
  • Fight climate change as trees absorb CO₂ and help lower carbon emissions
  • Support local communities by creating jobs and helping local people live better lives

Projects Your Purchase Helps Fund

When you make a purchase, it supports projects that make a real difference. Here are some of the incredible projects we’ve been able to fund since we partnered with Tree-Nation last year:

Plant to Stop Poverty, Tanzania

Focused on stopping poverty aswell as protecting the environment, this project teaches rural communities in Tanzania how to grow trees with their crops. This method, known as agroforestry, helps families grow food and earn money. So far, they have planted over 1.2 million trees in different districts.

Eden Reforestation Projects, Kenya

Unfortunately, only 8% of Kenya is covered by Forests due to logging and charcoal burning. The Eden Reforestation Project helps to fix the land by working with communities to find safe and lasting jobs through planting trees and restoring the land.

Preservation of Mt. Elgon Ecosystem, Uganda

More than 54,000 farmers near Mount Elgon are working to grow trees in the region. Uganda has lost at least 12% of its tree cover since 2001, putting both nature and people at risk. The project helps bring back forests and stops harmful farming and logging to save the land for the future.

Replanting the burnt Mkussu Forest, Tanzania

After a devastating fire, this project is focused on bringing the Mkussu Nature Forest Reserve back to life by replanting over 81,000 native trees to revive this vital ecosystem.

Our Impact So Far

Thanks to your support and commitment to a greener future, we have been able to make a real, measurable impact so far. Since January 2024, we have:

  • Planted 5,124 trees, cleaning the air and rebuilding habitats
  • Restored 4.44 hectares of forest (that’s over 4 and 1/2 football fields)
  • 449.84 tonnes of carbon dioxide has been removed from the atmosphere
