How does a compound cake firework work?
A compound cake typically has several tubes or shots connected by internal fusing. When the firework is lit, the fuses inside each tube are ignited sequentially, causing the fireworks to shoot into the sky and create a series of aerial effects in a programmed sequence.
What types of effects can compound cake fireworks produce?
Compound cakes can produce a wide range of effects, including colourful bursts of stars, crackling effects, glittering effects, whistles, comets, and more. They are known for their variety and complexity of effects.
How do I safely light a compound cake firework?
To safely light a compound cake firework, follow these general guidelines:
- Read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions.
- Place the compound cake on a flat, stable surface and secure it to prevent tipping.
- Ensure there are no flammable materials or obstacles near the firing area.
- Use a long, extended lighter or an electric firing system to light the fuse.
- Keep spectators at a safe distance, as recommended by the manufacturer.
- Have a designated adult responsible for lighting and supervising the display.
