The Pioneering Single-Comet Core Effect, Done Properly
London Calling… all we can hear when we read that is the famous song by The Clash, but let’s talk fireworks! Riakeo were the first to bring out the effect which starts this cake — a burst with a single, large, coloured comet or star which appears from the core of the burst. Others have copied it since, but Riakeo were the pioneers of this effect, and it’s used brilliantly here.
120 shots open with ti-gold coconuts with nishiki coloured dahlias in red, green, sea blue, orange and yellow — that’s the spitting cores — followed by red, green, sea blue, lemon and orange bursts with fizzing stars, spit red and spit green to crackling flowers, and a stunning finale of gold fizzing palms (which Riakeo call daisy flowers) to red strobe. 100 seconds of unique, exciting action, with the maximum 5/5 noise rating.
Why You’ll Love It
- 120 shots featuring Riakeo’s pioneering single-comet core-burst effect
- Ti-gold coconuts with nishiki coloured dahlias across five spitting core colours

- Finale of gold fizzing “daisy flower” palms to red strobe
Perfect For
London Calling is well suited to:

Safety Information
London Calling is a Category F2 firework. Given the mixed tube sizes including 30mm, we recommend treating it as if it were Category F3 for distance purposes — a minimum safety distance of 25 metres. Always read and follow the manufacturer’s instructions, use the firework only in a suitable large outdoor location and keep spectators at or beyond the recommended safety distance. Cakes should always be secured so they can’t fall over, there are several ways to do this. Watch our Safety videos on how to secure your cakes with [bricks] or [wooden stakes]
Never hold a lit firework or return to a firework that has failed to ignite. Children and pets should remain safely away from the firing area.
Frequently Asked Questions
What makes London Calling’s effect unique?
Riakeo were the first to produce this effect — a burst with a single, large, coloured comet or star appearing from the core of the burst. Other manufacturers have since copied it, but Riakeo were the pioneers.
What effects does London Calling produce?
It opens with ti-gold coconuts and nishiki coloured dahlias across five spitting core colours, moves through fizzing stars and crackling flowers, before a finale of gold fizzing “daisy flower” palms to red strobe.
Why does London Calling recommend 25 metres if it’s Category F2?
It uses mixed tube sizes including 30mm, larger than typical F2 fireworks. Because of this, we recommend treating it as if it were Category F3 for distance purposes.
How many shots does London Calling fire, and for how long?
It fires 120 shots over approximately 100 seconds.
Is London Calling a loud firework?
Yes — with the maximum 5/5 noise rating, it’s one of the loudest fireworks in the range.
