This year’s Fireworks Champions festivities, which at Firework Crazy we’re proud to be a part of this year, performing at Belvoir Castle on 6th August, kicks off this weekend. Saturday 23rd July sees the first fireworks champions of the year take place at Newby Hall, which is Ripon, North Yorkshire.
Newby Hall
Newby Hall is a stunning venue. Designed by Sir Christopher Wren, the country house is incredible, with a beautifully restored interior. There are also acres of award winning gardens as well as a children’s adventure park for little ones to enjoy.
While the gates for the event open at 5:30pm there’s nothing to stop you spending the day at Newby Hall beforehand either.
You can still buy digital tickets for the event from the Firework Champions website too! You’ll save 20% against the price if you order online as opposed to turning up on the day. You can also camp on the site at Newby Hall if you’re looking to make a real night of it. Note that if you are planning on driving to Newby Hall the admission gates close at 8:30pm for safety reasons.
If spending the day at Newby Hall before firework champions begins doesn’t appeal, Ripon and nearby Harrogate are both great places to spend a few hours and have plenty to see and do between them.
Who’s Performing?
If you’re not familiar with firework champions, each event features three invited pyrotechnics teams, followed by a closing display from MLE Pyrotechnics, the organizers of the event.
The following three pyrotechnic teams are performing at Newby Hall.
Impact Pyrotechnics
Impact Pyrotechnics are based in Washington, Tyne and Wear, and return to Firework Champions having took part in 2013 and 2014. Since their last appearance Impact Pyrotechnics have been very busy, providing the pyrotechnic effects for 2015’s inaugural European Games.
Magic and Miracle Fireworks
Magic and Miracle Fireworks are based in Stapleford, Nottinghamshire. Recently the team has worked with and created fireworks displays for some prestigious and notable brands, including Pandora and John Deere.
Optimum Fireworks
Optimum Fireworks are from Riddlesden in West Yorkshire. As well as being the nearest thing to a ‘home’ team, Optimum Fireworks previously won two Fireworks Champions events, at Broughton Hall in 2014 and Capesthorne Hall in 2015. Optimum Fireworks’ previous credits include providing a fireworks display for Jay Kay from Jamiroquai, and the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations.
The video of their winning display from 2014 is below for you to enjoy.
